I put myself on the verge of defeat today because I misspelled STEED.
Usually this isn’t a problem, but in the current case STEDE was also a word.
With a lost guess, I was lucky only with the letters I had left; there were only two possible words ending ULLY: “entirely” and GULLY. Fortunately, D and B had been eliminated earlier.
