Federal Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, revealed Tuesday that the salary disbursements of the national broadcaster of the Pakistan television (PTV) broadcaster (PTV) had been delayed due to substantial payments made to acquire diffusion rights for the Champions of Champions ICC.
During a briefing at the Information Committee of the National Assembly, Tarar justified this decision, declaring that the government has prioritized cricket accessibility for the public, in particular in remote areas where the land network of PTV is the only diffusion option.
“Our goal was to make sure that each citizen, even in the villages and remote areas, could look at the ICC champions trophy,” he said.
“PTV antennas -based emissions allow people without internet or cable access to enjoy these matches.”
The minister recognized the counterposer caused by the 21 -day wage delay, the contrasting with the private channels where such delays extend over months.
He also criticized the owners of private media for having failed to pay employees in time despite substantial income from sectors such as real estate.

He underlined the dismissal of 12 rehired retirees by descending excessive wages and said that the verification of employee diplomas would be completed on January 31.

Tickets for the final match, scheduled for March 9, will be available after the first semi-final in Dubai.
