Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Saturday that the United States and Iran have agreed to a framework for a peace deal that would end the months-long conflict in the Middle East, with a final text of the deal reached.
Pakistan is currently preparing for an e-signing expected in the next 24 hours, followed by technical-level talks next week, he added in an article on X.
“We are closer than ever to a peace agreement. With finalization likely expected within the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace agreement immediately thereafter, followed by technical talks next week.”

He also thanked the United States and Iran for their continued engagement during the negotiations. He expressed sincere gratitude to their brothers in the region for their support.
“We are convinced that this historic peace agreement will provide a solid basis for lasting peace,” he added.
US President Donald Trump shared the Prime Minister’s message on his own Truth Social platform.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif welcomed Pakistan’s mediation efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran, saying the process aims to ensure continued engagement between the two sides and pave the way for a positive outcome in the days to come. He said the agreement would be billed as the “Islamabad Pact”.
Speaking to a private television channel, he said Pakistan had brought the United States and Iran to the dialogue table so that communication would not be disrupted and the process could continue, ultimately reaching a positive conclusion in the coming days.
On this occasion, the minister strongly condemned Israel’s actions aimed at sabotaging the dialogue process and described its role as “destructive”.
“On several occasions, Israel played a very negative and destructive role. In Lebanon, thousands of children and innocent civilians were killed, while in Gaza, the genocide continues to this day. Their goal was to ensure that the conflict continued and that the United States remained engaged in the region in one way or another,” he said.
He also praised the US administration, particularly President Trump, for its role in the dialogue process, saying Trump had set an example of how a bold world leader should lead. He also praised the Iranian administration, saying it had created a new history.
“Iran has set a new example in the way it defended itself with courage, bravery and deep patriotism,” he said, adding that both countries had demonstrated wisdom and good judgment.
On Friday evening, Prime Minister Shehbaz posted a message on X regarding a “relentless campaign of disinformation by those who want to sabotage the peace agreement.”
Amid Pakistan’s intense mediation efforts, we are acutely aware of the relentless disinformation campaign being waged by those who want to sabotage the peace agreement. Noise aside, we can confirm that a final, agreed text of the peace deal has been reached and…

He went on to state that “a final and agreed text of the peace agreement has been reached and Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps”, adding that “peace has never been closer than today”.
The United States and Iran signaled Friday that a deal to end their war was near, with a senior U.S. administration official saying the two sides had agreed on a text and Washington hoped to sign a first deal in the coming days.
The war began with joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran on February 28. Iran then fired on US military targets in the Gulf and Hezbollah in Lebanon retaliated against Israel.
The war has killed thousands of people, mainly in Iran and Lebanon, and caused global energy prices to rise sharply.
