The New York Knicks’ miraculous comeback in Game 4 earlier this week resulted in a teenager being beaten into a coma.
New York police said Friday that a “group approached a 17-year-old” near Madison Square Garden and “got into an argument” before an individual “punched and kicked him.”
“He had a seizure and was in a coma,” the New York Police Department said of the teen.

According to the New York Post, the wanted individual was the attacker when he shouted, “The Spurs are up right now. We’re winning. The Spurs in 7 hours.”
Someone in the injured teen’s group, but not the teen, responded: “‘F— the Spurs.’ Suck my whore…”
A fight then broke out, which resulted in injuries to the teenager.
The Post said the teen had emerged from a coma and was in critical but stable condition.
“He’s coping. He’s responding,” the teen’s mother told the Post, adding that he should be removed from intensive care.

“The doctor said they’ll take him off the ventilator today. Hopefully he’ll be in a regular room tomorrow.”
The return of the Knicks caused madness in the streets. However, this resulted in 15 arrests and eggs being thrown at Victor Wembanyama when Spurs returned to their team hotel.
Watch parties have turned violent throughout the Knicks’ run. During the Eastern Conference Finals, watch parties outside of MSG were canceled, but they were brought back to start Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals. They were interrupted for Game 3 due to the presence of President Donald Trump, and while a 1,000-person party was planned for Game 4, owner James Dolan scrapped the idea, saying he did not want thousands more to be excluded from the event.
Numerous fights and other chaotic behavior throughout the city were caught on camera.
