The president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, called the Karachi business world to tackle their grievances directly with him rather than complaining about others, saying that Sindh remains under the management of the PPP.
Speaking during an event organized in honor of Karachi merchants, Bilawal assured them of his total support to resolve their challenges.
“If you have complaints against the chief minister, the ministers or the bureaucrats, bring them to me. There is no need to seek a resolution elsewhere, “he said.
Bilawal spoke of the transformation of the port city, declaring that the days of extortion and the forced closures of the industries are finished.
“What Karachi has experienced in the past is history. Companies now operate without fear, and workers are no longer forced to political rallies, “he added.
Addressing merchants directly, he questioned: “Have I already caused problems?” Why would I like you to encounter problems under my name or this government? »»
Bilawal criticized the federal government for excluding the Sindh in key political decisions, especially in energy prices and the supply of electricity.
“Decisions are made in Islamabad without consulting us, leaving the provinces to bear the consequences,” he said.
He highlighted Sindh’s potential as an energy center, pointing to his vast coal reserves. “Sindh has as much coal as Saudi Arabia has oil. We demand affordable electricity for everyone, “he said.
Bilawal accused federal leaders of deceiving the allegations at the end of load shedding.
“Tell me a city of the Sindh where the load shedding is over. This is why we are continuing our own projects to be able to need federal approval, “he said.
The President of the PPP has highlighted successful public-private partnership initiatives in the Sindh, which, according to him, generated profits and providing results.
Bilawal ended up urging mutual collaboration, saying: “Let’s work together to make sure that Karachi prosperous and the Sindh opens the development way.”
Bilawal’s response comes two days after the Karachi business world called for the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz.
During a meeting with the Minister of Planning, Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday, a senior trader pointed out: “Give us Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a while, and you can take Murad Ali Shah.”
The proposal was greeted by the resounding support of all the merchants present, who supported the idea that Maryam directs the government of Sindh. Iqbal was seen smiling at the suggestion but refrained from commenting.
