Alone Season 13 was eagerly awaited, but when it was renamed Alone: World Championshipso he really increased his level.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo may be brilliant footballers, but how would they fare on a freezing, lonely night in the Arctic Circle? This is certainly one way to settle the debate. Alone got into the spirit of the 2026 World Cup not – sadly – by banishing the beautiful game’s most pampered superstars to the Canadian wilderness, but by calling Season 13 itsWorld Championship.
The survival show has widened its scope a little wider than usual, admitting contestants from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Slovenia and Portugal. These include whitewater kayaking instructor Poldi Waldmann-Moloney, 24, and biologist Ziga Ogorelec, 35.
With a quartet of Americans and a lone Canadian, they have one goal: survive as long as they can in the extreme environs of the Richardson Mountains, straddling Canada’s Yukon and Northwest Territories – preferably without having to be medically evacuated.
They will be completely alone, which means that in addition to exploring the area, building shelter, foraging for food, hunting, avoiding disease, staying sane, and not dying from exposure or starvation, they will have to do some research.
Oh, and the Richardson Mountains are home to grizzly bears, wolves, and elk, and winter is just starting to draw in.
