In case you missed it, yesterday was a pretty big day for America in the World Cup. The Americans have clinched their group, which means they will advance. Not only that, but they looked really strong while doing it, and they managed to clinch this one without one of their best players. After all, there may be hope for the United States to win the World Cup. We also picked up another win in their match which ended 2-0, giving us a bit of money underneath – it was a bet that Geoff Clark and I loved and shared with all the readers. Let’s try to make some money in Saturday matches.

Netherlands vs Sweden
The Netherlands arrive in this match behind their opponent in the standings. They faced Japan in their opening match of the World Cup and played the match to a draw. Japan is a pretty strong team, so I guess there shouldn’t be much frustration there. They were the better team in the match, and a late goal tied the game, so perhaps that was the only reason for their frustration. Sweden won its first match against Tunisia 5-1. It wasn’t a tough match, and honestly, it probably didn’t do much to prepare them for this match against a stronger opponent. That’s not to say Sweden are a bad team, but it will be a bigger challenge.
I still like the draw in this one. Sweden would probably be happy to draw, as that would give them four points and bury the Netherlands a bit. Obviously they want to win, but I don’t like their chances. I think the Netherlands can exploit some of their strengths and fight for Sweden. I’ll try the draw. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sweden take the lead and try to hold it for most of the match, so that makes me a little cautious about taking over, especially with how full the line is.

Germany vs. Ivory Coast
I won’t go too far on this point, because Germany should absolutely dominate this match. In the first World Cup match, Germany shook Curaçao. And, if you didn’t see it, they were honestly thrilled to score a goal in the game. It was a 7-1 victory for Germany. Ivory Coast played well in their match against Ecuador, but it was not a very dominant performance. They won 1-0, giving them three points. The goal came in the 90th minute of the match. Other than that, most of the stats in this game seem pretty even.
In this one, we know that Germany is going to go on the offensive. I wouldn’t say Ecuador did that against Ivory Coast. I don’t expect the Germans to score seven goals, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them score three or more here. I think Ivory Coast has a decent defensive system, but there are plenty of opportunities for a team as good as Germany. Give me their team total over 2.5 goals. He’s at +145, so we’ll get a nice payout.

One final note: I don’t hate the idea of a Germany/Japan parliament for the World Cup today. Both teams should win. I wouldn’t say the payout is phenomenal, but it’s a decent option if you’re looking for something more.
