Dua Lipa’s Chanel wedding dress contains 480,000 pearls and 25,000 feathers: here’s the story behind it

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have shared the first glimpse of their three-day wedding celebrations in Sicily.

The pop superstar shared intimate photos from their nuptials on Instagram.

The 30-year-old singer married the British actor in a lavish ceremony at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th-century Sicilian palace nicknamed “Little Versailles.” The main event took place in London on May 31.

For the big event, Lipa sported a haute couture dress made by the House of Chanel, with designer Matthieu Blazy responsible for creating Lipa’s first wedding dress. The stunning outfit featured a crystal and feather design, a low back with embroidery and a long train measuring two meters.

It took 480,000 hand-sewn beads by Atelier Montex, as well as 25,000 feathers made by LemariƩ. She wore a six-meter veil with bead and feather embroidery.

This dress, handmade in the workshops at 31 rue Cambon in Paris, was truly unique. These trompe-l’oeil jewels required 1,155 hours of work with Lesage’s needle.

Lipa chose a wedding dress by Blazy from Chanel. This pop star has always loved the work of this designer, who created clothes for Bottega Veneta and later for Chanel.

However, Lipa’s connection with Chanel goes even deeper, as she was the face of the Chanel 25 bag campaign in March 2025. However, her relationship with Blazy is closer than with Chanel.

The singer has always appreciated Blazy’s work, having worn it to several important events, including her 28th birthday celebration. She also attended Blazy’s first couture show for Chanel in Paris earlier this year.
