Islamabad:
The PTI of Imran Khan invited the Jeu-F de Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join a great opposition alliance-Trehreek Tahaffuz-e-E-Pakistan-was formed last year in order to protect holiness of the Constitution.
The invitation was extended during a meeting between a PTI delegation and the Chief Jui-F at his residence in the Federal Capital. The PTI delegation was led by Omar Ayub and included Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Hamid Raza and Akhunzada Yousufzai.
During the meeting, the two parties agreed to form a committee including Asad Qaiser of PTI and the Senator of Jui-F Kamran Murtaza.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Omar Ayub said they had visited Maulana Fazlur Rehman to strengthen democracy. He said that PTI workers are still being arrested and that during recent negotiations, the government had not accepted any of their requests.
Omar also said that the government had promised to organize a private meeting with the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala prison, but he did not do so. He added that the authorities had made a raid at the Hamid Raza residence during the talks.
PTI secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, said he informed Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the ongoing negotiations, who were called on Tuesday and discussed the government’s intentions.
During a press conference, the spokesperson for Jeu-F, Senator Kamran Murtaza, said that PTI leaders were warmly welcomed by him and Maulana Fazlur Rehman. “Detailed discussions have taken place concerning the appointment of the CEC and two members. Electoral interference should end,” he added.
He also announced that a temporary committee of two members had been trained, made up of Asad Qaiser and himself, to supervise current developments.
