Holly Willoughby thought the worst was behind her. Instead, a frightening new development would have brought back memories of one of the darkest chapters of his life.
Almost two years after Gavin Plumb was jailed for plotting to kidnap and murder the beloved TV presenter, reports emerged claiming photographs of Holly had been discovered inside his prison cell – a revelation which is said to have left the former This Morning star deeply disturbed.
According to insiders, the discovery reopened old wounds for Holly, who dramatically changed her life after the horrific plot was revealed in 2023.
βItβs a new nightmare,β a source revealed.
“Holly was horrified when she was told about the photos. Even though Plumb is locked up, it made her feel scared and vulnerable. He put her through an incredibly traumatic experience β it really scared her.”
The alleged discovery is said to have reignited fears that Holly has worked hard to overcome since the case shocked the nation.
After the plot was discovered by a US police officer monitoring online discussions, Plumb was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years.
The ordeal prompted Holly to move away from This morning after 14 years and reportedly moved in with her husband Dan Baldwin and their three children.
But while she has focused on rebuilding her life and career, the latest reports would have been a painful reminder that history is far from forgotten.
“Holly worries about what will happen when Plumb is released. That’s never far from her mind, and finding out he still has a morbid fixation on her was terrifying,” the source said.
“Holly has been through so much over the last few years with TV projects that didn’t work out, but this ordeal was without a doubt the worst thing. She had to do a lot of work to get through it and she thought she had turned a corner. So this was a real setback.”
The source added that Holly and Dan remain focused on protecting their family.
“Holly and Dan are not ruling out moving in the future to protect their family, especially if Plumb is released. They will take it step by step. Holly feels it will never leave her, but she tries not to let Plumb’s actions dictate her life.”
