Wondering where your online order ended up could soon be a thing of the past thanks to a new Samsara launch that makes tracking your deliveries easier than ever.
At its Samsara Beyond event, the company unveiled the Samsara Tracking Label: a single-use smart Bluetooth adhesive label capable of providing near real-time visibility into where a shipment actually is.
From dispatch to delivery, the label can connect to the company’s Samsara network throughout its route, enabling precise tracking at all times – particularly useful in areas such as pharmaceuticals, where businesses need to know exactly where a delivery is at all times.

The tracking label is a flexible, paper-thin adhesive label that can last up to 45 days after activation. The battery does not contain lithium or hazardous materials, which means it can be cleared through customs for air, ground and rail shipments, and can be disposed of without special handling.
Samsara says the launch goes beyond traditional trackers, which can be lost or damaged in transit, leading to a lack of insight or insight into where a delivery actually is, with its network covering 99% of major U.S. highways and tens of thousands of job sites.
“This is no longer science fiction, this is reality,” David Gal, vice president of connected equipment at Samsara, told Samsara Beyond attendees.
The company says merchandise theft costs U.S. businesses about $35 billion a year, a figure that will only increase in the coming years as online shopping continues to grow.
It shows how current solutions, such as RFID and cellular connectivity, can run into cost and coverage issues, but Bluetooth can go beyond that and provides much more insight.
The labeling process can be easily expanded based on customer demand – and while specific pricing information is not yet available, the move could help businesses of all sizes save time, money and stress related to tracking their deliveries.
The tracking label can be managed in Samsara’s new shipping center and shipping app, which seamlessly connects to an organization’s existing infrastructure, regardless of which carrier it uses.
This platform allows customers to not only view the delivery schedule in real time and deter theft, but also detect issues or delays before they arise, track deliveries across borders and facilitate dispute resolution, thereby contributing to customer satisfaction.
