Dua Lipa is still waiting to move into her dream home in London, even though she bought it six years ago.

The singer is planning a huge renovation, meaning the house won’t be ready until 2027.

Reports indicate that Dua and her husband, Callum Turner, spent years planning major changes to the property.

The project includes the construction of a large basement with a swimming pool, a music studio and a private cinema.

The renovation is expected to cost around £3 million.

The work took much longer than expected because obtaining permission was a slow process.

Dua’s team first applied in 2021, but construction didn’t begin until 2024, after waiting three years for approval.

The project was not easy, however. Local groups have raised concerns about the loss of green space, protection of old trees and possible flooding in the area.

For this reason, the builders had to work very carefully and around twenty workers have been on site for over a year, digging a few meters underground while ensuring that the historic trees nearby are not damaged.

Dua’s team also promised to keep noise and dust to a minimum and said they were “committed to minimizing disruption to residents and local businesses during construction work”.

Design expert Leigh Ann Raines said projects like this naturally take longer than usual due to their complexity.

“She could invest £3 million into making it a home that meets her needs,” Raines said.

She added: “It takes time. Rome wasn’t built in a day!”
