- Images of cases for the larger foldable Galaxy have been leaked
- They look like official cases, but they call the phone the “Galaxy New Fold”
- Fans Sowed Doubt About Whether This Was The Real Deal
One of the big questions surrounding Samsung’s larger foldable is what it will actually be called.
Early leaks called it the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, but more recently we’ve heard that it might just launch as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, with the direct successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 now being called the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. But today, another possibility appears.
Some leaked images were shared on X by Mohammed Khatri and @thinborne showing off the packaging of apparently official cases for the phone, listed here as “Samsung Galaxy New Fold.”
But there’s reason to doubt that name, because while the photos are probably real, there’s a good chance the products they show are knockoffs from China.

As one Reddit commenter claimed: “These are fake cases made by Chinese companies sold through eBay, temu, shein, ali express, etc… they copy Samsung boxes well, but they don’t know the new fold name, so you can see it on the box where it’s just called new fold. Samsung would never do that.”
Another Reddit poster agreed, writing: “I’ve seen cases like this pop up all over Aliexpress and almost all of them are fakes with the Samsung logo on them.” »
And on top of all that, these are so-called “Kindsuit” cases, which are a style of case that Samsung offered for last year’s flagship phones, but not for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. So there’s some doubt as to whether the company’s upcoming foldables would benefit from this style of casing.
We will know soon
On the other hand, aside from the questionable name, these appear to be official Samsung cases, so we can’t completely rule out the possibility that this is the official name of the larger foldable.
But this would seem an odd choice, as later extended models will no longer be “new” in the same sense, which would quickly become an awkward naming system.
Either way, we’ll probably find out very soon, as Samsung is rumored to launch its next batch of foldable devices on July 22.
