Cara Delevingne addressed long-running rumors that she had an affair with Amber Heard while Heard was still married to Johnny Depp, and made it clear that the timeline wasn’t quite what Depp believed.
Speaking on the Podcast Louis Théroux In an episode that aired on June 29, Delevingne explained that Depp’s accusations stemmed from jealousy rather than facts.
“I think he was driven crazy with jealousy,” she told Theroux, insisting that “nothing was happening at the time.”
She traced her suspicions back to 2013, when she and Heard worked together on the film. London Fieldsin which Depp made a brief appearance.
Depp and Heard dated in 2011 and married in 2014, before splitting after fifteen months and finalizing their divorce the following year.
It was only after this split, Delevingne confirmed, that a relationship between her and Heard actually developed.
“Later, after their divorce, that happened, I guess,” she said. “Heard and I were close for a long time, then when they divorced we got mixed up.”
Delevingne also spoke candidly that Heard was not exclusively involved with her during this time, pointing to Heard’s on-and-off relationship with Elon Musk between 2016 and 2018.
“She was also mixed with other people,” Delevingne noted.
