Philips Audio has revealed a new set of all products designed with a strong retro sensation, called the Century range. As its name suggests, the idea is to celebrate 100 years by the name of Philips which makes audio equipment, and the conceptions are based on different parts of the last century. Oh, and they are all named after the great musical artists.
The collection consists of two record players with integrated speakers, two pairs of headphones and a portable digital radio, which will officially launch in September 2025 in the United Kingdom and Europe (American availability is Not yet confirmed, but Philips Audio Vendez products there and will launch its new H8000E antibruity helmet).
I saw them all in person, even if I could not hear them because the units were not yet completely ready – but I saw it enough to make me excite them, because there are Really cool tips.
The Ringo
First of all, we have to talk about the Ringo headphones, which are designed to look like earphones in the 80s that you expected to see everywhere in Venice beach in California connected to Walkmans.
They have a metal banner, small circular ear pads and colored ear files, with options for the Sarcelle, black or white finishes (and perhaps more to come). But don’t be fooled, they are really modern inside, with Bluetooth 5.4 and 40 mm drivers, which is impressive for such small atria.
Those who like the best earphones in the ear are a bit hungry with wireless options compared to the many ear options on the market, so these will be welcome – and they seem super cool. Pleasure, they are delivered with spare ear pads, so you don’t have to worry about carrying them. The battery life is around 20 hours.
The Tina
My next favorite from the collection is the Tina, which is a Disk Tour with a 120W integrated speaker, which, according to Philips, is the most powerful speaker ever put in an all-in-one-one to This day. It is a 2.1 stereo configuration, with two full range drivers facing the front, and a four -inch reflex subwoofer.
There is an aluminum tray and a reading with an adjustable counterweight, and it comes with a magnetic cartridge in audio-technica. In addition to playing music via the speakers, you can play on Bluetooth, including the use of Auracasts to play on several speakers at the same time, and it has a 6.3 mm headset.
But it is not only in competition with the best turntables for the vinyl game alone; You can also broadcast music on Bluetooth, where it has RCA in-in, plus reading the USB file, and even digital and FM radio tunes.
And in addition to all this, it is a very striking thing to see in person. This wooden veneer in the middle of the century and the front grille combo, with large dials at each end, is a cool declaration on a buffet.
The Freddie
Perfect for pairing with the Tina for private listening is Freddie, a set of deeply padded back headphones with 50 mm pilots. Philips made a lot of very beautiful headphones open during the years of his Fidelio brand, and it seems that many principles have been used here – but with a brown finish that shouts the old -fashioned hi -fi ‘. Well, maybe it doesn’t cry era; No more crust through a smoked mist in a listening club.
There is a 3m cable included, and the double layer ears are designed to be more breathable than the older headphones could have been, and with a suspended headband for long listening.
Stevie
The next on my list of personal favorites is the Stevie, which is another all-in-one turn. It has a more modern look and a lot aims at vinyl beginners, with modest 12W speakers, and the possibility of broadcasting it via Bluetooth as well as playing records.
The Spinner is a three-speed three-speed affair, with an audio-technica mm cartridge. In addition to the integrated speakers, you can send music to Bluetooth speakers and there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Janet
Finally, there is the Janet (photo on the right, above), which is a DAB + and FM radio which aims to suggest an atmosphere of the 1950s with its curved sides, although I think that its black finish and its screen LCD make it too modern for really tickle the part that likes retro brain. He has a 5W speaker, and you can broadcast music on Bluetooth as well as radio.
It has a 16 -hour battery life, and it is one of the many speakers that Philips launches which has an easily replaced rechargeable battery – if it stops holding the years, you can simply Buy another in Philips, open a blanket, and exchange the units. It’s great to see.
It’s a shame that I can’t tell you more about how these sounds – or just as important – will cost them. But I was totally charmed by the appearance of the Ringo and the Tina in particular, so I can’t wait for September when we can see if what’s inside is up to the outside.
