The firm’s division published Toshakhana files from March 2023 to December 31, 2024, revealing a list of eminent personalities who received gifts during this period, local media reported on Wednesday.
Among the people listed are Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Vice-Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former president Arif Alvi, the former CJP Qazi Faez Isa and several other key political and government figures.
According to the notification issued, many officials, including former acting Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Minister of Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Miftah Ismail, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Miftah Ismail, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Miftah Ismail, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Miftah Ismail, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Miftah Ismail, Rana Sanaullah, Aftab Tarar, Shazin, Bugti and Jam Kamal also received gifts.
The other people listed in the notification include the president of the PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, his sister Asifa Bhutto, Senator Talha Mahmood, the experienced diplomat Tariq Fatemi, the president of the Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani and the president of FBR Rashid Langrial, among others .
In addition, military and security personnel such as vice-admiral Abdul Samad, the military secretary of President Zardari, Brigadier Shahryar Munir Hafez, Military Secretary of the PM, Major-General Tajdid Mumtaz, the director of security of PM, Mohammad Imran, and former foreign secretary Amina Baloch were also part of the gifts.
The notification also included the names of former interim ministers such as Shamshad Akhtar (Finance), Jalil Abbas Jilani (Foreign Affairs), Dr. Umar Saif (IT), Tajat Gohar Ejaz (exchange) and Muhammad Ali (Energy) who were offered to various elements during the elements during their mandate.
The gifts presented included books, decorative pieces, memories, watches, teaons, carpets, shawls, daggers, prayer mats, pens, cups, perfumes and handkerchiefs, among others.
In recent years and a half years, most beneficiaries have deposited their donations in Toshakhana, and the firm division is currently estimating the value of the various donations received.
It is important to note that in March 2023, the Shehbaz government presented a new system to manage gifts. Under the new rules, the recipients are authorized to keep gifts up to $ 300, while any gift exceeding this value will become the property of Toshakhana.
