Layfield told PK Press Club Digital that he decided to partner with BZZR after learning that his favorite baseball team, the Texas Rangers, was doing business with the company.
“I have a good friend, I call him ‘Shooter’ (Chris) Dunn. He’s been in WWE before. He’s now with BZZR. BZZR seems like a great platform,” he said. “I’m a huge Texas Rangers fan and the Rangers teamed up with BZZR. My grandfather was blind but before he died and for several years he listened to the Rangers on the radio every afternoon and evening and I would go and sit there with him.
“I’m a big fan of the Rangers because of that and they work with BZZR, so that piqued my interest because the Texas Rangers are involved with them, but it seems like such a wonderful platform, so I’m happy to be involved.”

Layfield said one feature spoke to him specifically: keeping the platform solely about sports.
BZZR bills itself as “the world’s first streaming and social media platform designed exclusively for sports, without any nonsense or sloppiness.”
“Isn’t that amazing? You actually do something and you don’t expect someone to say, ‘You’re rubbish’ or you ‘look stupid’ or you don’t know anything about anything. ‘Remember in the 1930s there was a great one,’ no. I don’t really remember that because I have a life,” he told PK Press Club Digital.
“It’s amazing. I don’t know what you’re doing with social media, but the one thing BZZR does, which is awesome, is you have to have your name on there, you have to have your picture. People who hide behind psyedonyms or can become keyword warriors – it gives people a voice that some people shouldn’t have. Some people should, but some people shouldn’t.”
