Kotli has the highest number of candidates, with 135 candidates contesting for six constituencies.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission on Sunday released the final list of candidates for the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections, with 852 candidates set to contest in 45 constituencies after over 320 candidates withdrew from the race.
The commission has also allocated election symbols to 24 registered political parties, while symbols for independent candidates will be issued soon. A total of 126 candidates will run in the 12 refugee constituencies, according to the electoral commission.
According to the final list, Kotli has the highest number of candidates, with 135 candidates contesting for six constituencies.
It is followed by Muzaffarabad, where 126 candidates will contest for five seats, while 126 candidates are also in the fray in seven constituencies of Poonch and Sudhanoti.
The Election Commission said 98 candidates would contest in four constituencies of Mirpur, 83 would contest for four seats in Bagh and Haveli and 63 candidates would contest in three constituencies of Bhimber.
He further said that 51 candidates were in the fray in the two Neelum constituencies, while 34 candidates were in the fray in Jhelum valley.
The commission added that election symbols have been allocated to 24 registered political parties, while symbols for independent candidates will be issued in due course.
