Tensions between former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro reportedly flared in Las Vegas early Friday.
ESPN reported, citing sources, that the two NBA stars were involved in a physical altercation at an NBA Summer League practice facility, during which the Heat center allegedly punched the Milwaukee Bucks guard in the head. The NBA Summer League returned to the Las Vegas area on Thursday. Herro attended the Bucks-Heat Summer League game Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.
Sources told ESPN that Adebayo initially confronted Herro over alleged social media comments criticizing his defense. The comments appeared to surface after the blockbuster deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami and Herro to Milwaukee, ending his tenure as Adebayo’s Heat teammate.

Screenshots circulated online reportedly showed Herro questioning Adebayo’s defensive prowess in an Instagram direct message with a fan.
Herro greeted Bucks Summer League players after the Heat’s 119-86 victory. He also spoke briefly with former Heat and current Bucks forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. on the court before leaving the building without addressing the incident with Adebayo.

“It’s all love in Miami,” Herro said. “I saw a few guys, the coaching staff, Chris Quinn, Spo [Erik Spoelstra]the guys at the reception; we are all happy in Miami. Just an opportunity for both sides to reset, to get a fresh start, and both are very happy about it. »
First-year Bucks head coach Taylor Jenkins told SiriusXM NBA Radio he had “no comment” on the matter, adding, “I don’t really know all the details.”
Adebayo agreed to a three-year extension worth $166 million with Miami in June 2024. The alleged DM also seemed to question whether his late-night defensive efforts justified a salary approaching $60 million.

In March, Adebayo had a game-high 83 points against the Washington Wizards, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game for the second-highest scoring night in NBA history. Herro was named the league’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2022.
In a statement, the Heat said: “We are aware of this and have no comment.” The Bucks declined to comment on the situation.
