Norway and England will face off in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 5 p.m. ET from Miami Stadium.
Norway moved up to second in their group after beating Iraq 4-1 in their first match, Senegal 3-2 in their second match and losing to France 1-4 in their third match. In the round of 16, they beat Ivory Coast 2–1 before beating Brazil 2–1 in the round of 16 to reach the first quarter-final in Norway’s history. Erling Haaland sits just behind Argentina’s Messi in the Golden Boot Race alongside Mbappé, scoring seven times in the tournament so far.
England won their group by winning their first match against Croatia 4–2, drawing 0–0 against Ghana in their second match and beating Panama 2–0 in their third match. In the knockout stage, they needed a late comeback to oust DR Congo 2-1 in the round of 16 and outlasted Mexico 3-2 in an epic last 16. Harry Kane has scored six times and Jude Bellingham has added four in the tournament so far.

Erling Haaland against the English central defenders is the match to watch in this quarter-final.
Haaland has scored in every game he has played this World Cup, including two against Brazil in the round of 16. Norway doesn’t need long periods of possession to make him dangerous. Pass the ball wide, feed him quickly and he does the rest before a defense can set up.
England have been finer defensively than anyone they have faced Norway so far. Deny the first crossings. Prevent him from turning his half-chances into shots, and the Norwegian attack will lose its most direct weapon.
