The former senator who called Bitcoin ‘has choice for criminals’ obtains 11 years in prison for corruption

The skeptical and disgraced crypto of former American senator Bob Menendez was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Wednesday for corruption and acting as an agent for Egypt, reported the Associated Press.

Menendez was a Democrat in New Jersey and famous for taking crypto shots. He called an “ideal choice for criminals” and also opposed the Acceptance by El Salvador de la BTC once Bitcoin (BTC).

“You succeeded, powerful, you were at the top of our political system,” said district judge Sidney H. Stein in Menendez, according to AP.

Menendez took bribes in the form of gold and silver and used his political ties to act as an agent for Egypt, according to the report.

The former senator was found guilty of corruption last year, as Coindesk reported.
