King Charles has entrusted a key diplomatic mission to one of the royal family’s most loyal and hardworking members to finally end the royal hiatus for a special place.
Princess Anne, accompanied by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, embarked on her next task as she flew to Thailand after concluding her three-day visit to South Korea.
On Thursday, she arrived in Bangkok and began her historic visit not with a state banquet but with a soccer match.
As Royal Patron of Save The Children UK, she visited Khlong Toei School which organized the ‘Play For Change’ event in collaboration with the Liverpool Football Club Foundation.
Sir Tim was also present at the opening engagement, where he visited classrooms and met students at Chumchon Moo Ban Pattana School, located in an informal settlement, with Princess Anne.
The football activities brought joy to the children as former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey played alongside them.
Anne also condoled the death of late Queen Sirikit and late Princess Bajrakitiyabha (Bha) during her speech at the event.
After visiting the school, Anne’s visit will include an audience with King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida, a tribute to the late Queen Sirikit and a meeting with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
Anne will meet women working in science to benefit the nation and attend a regional health security showcase. The visit will conclude on Friday with a cultural collaboration event between the United Kingdom and Thailand.
