Apex court sets Imran’s contempt plea for July 20

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court finally fixed July 20 (Monday) for contempt proceedings for non-implementation of its order allowing meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan.

A panel of three judges headed by Justice MuhammadAli Mazahar will hear the

contempt petition over the non-implementation of its March 24 order directing prison authorities to allow the PTI founder to meet his family members and lawyers.

On June 18, the same court issued notices to all respondents, including the superintendent of Adiala Prison and the Punjab Home Minister. Notices have also been issued to the Attorney General of Pakistan and the Advocates General of Islamabad and Punjab.

Meanwhile, the same judiciary will take up the case of Imaan Mazari’s lawyer and her husband on July 21.
