“The Odyssey” overtakes “Oppenheimer” with a huge first day

The Odyssey is already proving to be a huge success for Christopher Nolan.

The director’s new film got off to a flying start in theaters, grossing $51 million on its first day in North America.

It’s now the biggest opening day of Nolan’s career and has put the film on track for a massive debut weekend.

The film was off to a good start even before Friday, raking in $17.6 million during previews on Thursday.

These numbers were enough to beat the opening day of some of Nolan’s biggest films, including Oppenheimer And The black knight rises.

Experts believe The Odyssey could earn between $100 million and $120 million in North America by the end of the weekend.

Worldwide, the film is expected to exceed $200 million, making it one of the biggest releases of the year.

Matt Damon leads the cast as the famous Greek hero Ulysses, joined by Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page and John Leguizamo.

However, fans also rushed to watch the film in IMAX. The special 70mm screenings sold out well before release, showing just how excited people were about Nolan’s latest project.

With rave reviews and packed theaters, The Odyssey began its journey exactly as Christopher Nolan would have hoped.

It now looks set to stay at the top of the box office for weeks to come.
