Bitcoin slipped to around $63,900 on Monday, down 1.3% on the day but still up 2% on the week, as the crypto remained stuck between a war driving up oil and the Chinese AI shock that hit chip stocks on Friday.
The board is red all day. Ether fell 1.1% to $1,850, BNB fell 0.8% to $564, XRP slipped to $1.09 and dogecoin lost 1.4%. Hyperliquide’s HYPE remained the weakest of the majors, down 8% over the week to $60.
Brent crude soared to a one-month high above $91 a barrel as strikes between the United States and Iran widened, reviving inflation fears that weak U.S. price data this month had eased. Meanwhile, Asian chip stocks remained under pressure from Friday’s selloff, with South Korea’s Kospi down 3.5%, even as U.S. futures pointed higher.
