United States President Donald Trump has hit back at New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani after the latter announced he might consider arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, executing International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants, during his visit to the United States.
Now the 47th POTUS has stepped in and, without referring to the mayor’s comments, Trump announced that Netanyahu will not be arrested in the United States.
Building on his own Truth Social platform, the 80-year-old Republican leader wrote: “Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in any way while in the United States of America. »
Trump credited the Israeli prime minister as someone fighting the Islamic Republic of Iran which has spent the “last 47 years killing American soldiers and others.”

This comes after Mamdani told the New York Times that the city was considering all possible legal options. In a video podcast The interviewthe 34-year-old social-democrat mayor said: “I believe Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague. He is a war criminal who has been indicted by the ICC.”
The Hague-based ICC has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu in 2024 over his alleged war crimes in Gaza.
Earlier, Israel responded to Mamdani’s comments, calling the ICC a “kangaroo court.”
Netanyahu is currently scheduled to travel to the United States this week, with preparations for the trip expected to begin on Saturday.
