DPM to lead Pakistani delegation to SCO-CFM meeting on July 23-24 and hold bilateral meetings with SCO counterparts
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, after concluding his visit to Manila, leaves for Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, to attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (MoFA).
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar left for Cholpon-Ata in the Kyrgyz Republic on Thursday to attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), after concluding his visit to Manila, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, FM Dar was invited by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev and will lead the Pakistani delegation to the SCO-CFM meeting scheduled for July 23-24.
The statement added that FM Dar will also hold bilateral meetings with its counterparts from SCO member states on the sidelines of the meeting.
“The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Philippine government and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) team for the gracious hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their visit to Manila,” the statement said.

The ministry further said that foreign ministers of all SCO member states including Pakistan, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan would participate in the ACE meeting.
The CFM is the third forum in the SCO format. It focuses on issues of international relations, as well as SCO foreign and security policy.
Earlier, Dar arrived in Manila, Philippines to participate in the 33rd Ministerial Meeting of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dar also held a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ahead of the ARF ministerial meeting and “reviewed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Russia and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in trade, energy, connectivity and other key areas, as well as strengthen coordination in multilateral forums.”

Separately, Dar met Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rehman and reviewed the “positive trajectory” of their bilateral relations and reaffirmed their common commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations.
