Huzzah, another weekend is upon us — and, amid the lack of new movies arriving in theaters today (July 24), you might be inclined to stay home and watch one of the following seven must-see movies and TV shows.
There are a few new things we couldn’t fit into this week’s streaming roundup – sorry, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 and The Dink. Still, I’m sure you’ll find something to your liking among the ones we’ve listed below. What if I said that The Big Bang Theory spin-off Stuart fails to save the universe was better than the original series? No one expected the bumbling story of comic book store owner Stuart to carry over from the main series, but looking back, it’s a glorious decision.

Aang grew up in Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, but that does not mean that the original magic has disappeared. The film’s understanding of perspective, movement and detail is absolutely stunning, moving through the Four Nations with such awe-inspiring wonder that you’ll want to live in every frame.
Time may have changed their appearance, but their goofy, fun-loving personalities certainly haven’t…and the animation captures exactly what was missing in Netflix’s live-action adaptation. — Joint venture
72 Hours (Netflix)

In this new Netflix movie, Kevin Hart plays a 40-year-old who finds himself at a three-day bachelor party with strangers, resulting in another silly Hart-led adventure that’s perfect if you need a laugh this weekend.
How did it get there, you might ask? Well, he was mistakenly added to a group chat and joined the trip, traveling from New York to Miami to join the celebrations. Any excuse to party by the beach, I guess.
It’s not so idyllic though, as the trailer hints at trouble with the law and other misadventures, including getting horribly stung by a jellyfish. Rather him than me. — Lucy Buglas, senior entertainment editor

Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston (Hulu/Disney+)

A three-part National Geographic series, Pompeii: out of time follows Hiddleston as he retraces the steps of a trio of individuals caught up in the natural disaster. Armed with new archaeological evidence and supported by a team of experts, Hiddleston explores how these people not only endured one of the worst humanitarian crises of the ancient world, but might also have survived the deadly events of 79 AD.
A part educational, part moving drama, Pompeii: out of time is now available in full on Disney+ and Hulu. — TP
Ransom Canyon season 2 (Netflix)

I don’t need all of my television to be profound, life-changing, or even meaningful. Sometimes I just want to turn my brain off and pretend I live in a quaint, rural town like Ransom Canyon on the other side of the world where everyone is dealing with constant drama except me.
In Season 2, the land feud between the Double K and Fuller ranches grew fiercer, local bar owner Quinn left for New York despite his on-and-off relationship with rancher Staten, and mysterious newcomer Yancy revealed to his new love interest Ellie that he had a secret wife.
Season 1 was already a good outing, but now that the series knows itself a little better, Season 2 is easily on par with the strongest seasons of Virgin Riverthe streamer’s most iconic “comfortable drama” IP. — Joint venture
Masters of the Universe (Prime Video)

One of several films released in mid-2026 that have exploded at the box office, Amazon has raised the proverbial white flag on its live-action. Masters of the Universe the theatrical release of the film. In short: this means you can now watch it on Prime Video.
Based on the Mattel-owned media franchise of the same name, the fantasy action film tells the story of Adam, the crown prince of Eternia and owner of a mystical weapon called the Power Sword which, when wielded, transforms him into a superhuman known as He-Man. Along with his allies, the previously exiled Adam must realize his potential and overthrow the nefarious Skeletor, who took control of Adam’s hometown of Eternos – and his throne – 15 years earlier.
