Breaking: Chief’s son’s coordinator arrested in mother’s shooting
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s son, Elijah Bieniemy, 27, faces charges for allegedly shooting his mother, Mia Bieniemy, in Ashburn, Virginia. Mia was found with multiple gunshot wounds, but her condition is now stable. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid expressed his support for the Bieniemy family following the shocking incident.

Andy Reid provided an update on the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who was shot and killed earlier this week.
Mia Bieniemy suffered “multiple gunshot wounds” at the couple’s Ashburn, Virginia, home and was originally in stable condition and hospitalized.
“She’s doing great. She’s doing better and great from where she was,” Reid told reporters at training camp Wednesday. “Out of the intensive care unit, I’m happy with that. EB is still with her, that part is important.”

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Leah Pau said Monday that police arrived Sunday evening at a home in the 20000 block of Northpark Drive in Ashburn, Virginia, and arrested the couple’s son, 27-year-old Elijah Zion Bieniemy. He was arrested for intentional wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm inside a dwelling, according to a press release from the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office.

Elijah was also transported to the Loudon County Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
The Chiefs asked coaches, recruits and quarterbacks to report to camp in St. Joseph, Mo., on the campus of Missouri Western State on Friday. Veteran players reported this on Tuesday.
Bieniemy, 56, returned to the Chiefs this year as offensive coordinator after spending time with the Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears and the UCLA football program.
