“It will be incredible to return to Baton Rouge, a community that means so much for me,” said Reese in a statement. “LSU played a decisive role in preparing for the WNBA, and I can’t wait to hit the ground in front of fans of Tigers and Sky.”

Reese made its mark in the LSU tradition after transporting the Tigers to the 2023 national championship against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

“We are delighted to organize a WNBA match in May with the Sky and Angel Reese of Chicago,” said LSU coach Kim Mulkey. “Angel played a major role in creating our program at LSU, and I know that our fans will be delighted to find her in the Pmac. She had such a great recruit season, and we can’t wait to keep it Prosper in the WNBA.

This title game presented the now infamous taxation of Clark Reese, which aroused many criticisms and began an unofficial rivalry between the two.

Clark rejected any notion that Reese “should be criticized at all” after the fact, but the two went hand in hand in conversations surrounding women’s basketball, on and off the ground.

Reese’s teammate, Kamilla Cardoso, will go against her national home team. She was the third choice of draft, behind Clark and Cameron Brink, after finishing an undefeated season with the South Carolina.

“I am so excited to play against my former Brazilian national team,” said Cardoso. “Brazil has played such an important role in my life and has shaped the person I am today. Playing for the sky against my old team gives me a wonderful opportunity to connect with my roots and play in front of old friends and teammates at home. “”
