Islamabad: Pakistan observes today (Wednesday) the day of the solidarity of the cashmere to express unwavering support for the fight of the cashmere people for self -determination as promised in the United Nations resolutions.

The day is marked by a public holiday every year on February 5, with solidarity walks across the country and Azad Jammu and Cashmire (AJK).

Pakistan is united with the Indian people illegally occupied Jammu and Cashmire (Iiojk), with a renewed commitment to their just struggle for the freedom of Indian subjugation.

In Islamabad, a rally should be held at Constitution Avenue. At 10 a.m., the sirens will ring and a minute of silence will be observed in tribute to the martyrs of the cashmere.

Posters and display panels highlighting the fate of cashmericis have been placed in key places, including airports and stations.

In Muzaffarabad, the AJK Legislative Assembly will hold a special session to express its solidarity with those of the Kashmir of Indian illegal occupation (IIOJK).

The human channels will be trained in Mangla, Kohala, Bararkot, Azad Pattan and Holar, symbolizing the unity between Pakistan and AJK. A special function will take place in Mangla Bridge in Mirpur, with similar events planned in the districts of Kotli and Bhimber.

In his message on the day of cashmere solidarity, President Asif Ali Zardari said that this day reminds the international community his responsibility towards the oppressed cashmere people.

He said the United Nations should honor the promises made to cashmiris 78 years ago and support their struggle for their right to self -determination.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that the government and the people of Pakistan observed each year the “day of solidarity of the cashmere” to renew their firm support for the just and legitimate struggle of the Kashmir people to realize their right to self -determination.

He declared that in the interest of lasting peace in South Asia, the international community should urge India to allow the Kashmir people to freely determine their own future because a lasting peace could not be made by removing the real aspirations of the local population.

“Recent developments in the Middle East have shown that long-standing disputes should not be authorized to take shelter,” said the Prime Minister in a message on the Solidarity Day of Cashmere.

A declaration published by the PM office cited Prime Minister Shehbaz saying: “The right to self -determination is a fundamental principle of international law. Each year, the United Nations General Assembly adopts a resolution which highlights the legal law of people to decide their own destiny “.

The Prime Minister said that the cashmere people had not been able to exercise this right, despite the adoption of the last seventy-eight years.

“Today, the Jammu and the cashmere of Indian origin (IIOJK) remains one of the most militarized areas in the world. The Kashmiris live in an environment of fear and intimidation.”

The Prime Minister said that political activists and human rights defenders were faced with prolonged detention and the confiscation of properties, adding political parties, representing the real aspirations of the Kashmir people, had been prohibited. The intention of these oppressive measures was to crush dissent, he added.

The PM also declared that India was also taking measures to consolidate its illegal occupation of the IIOJK.

“Following its illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, India’s efforts are aimed at managing demographic and political changes so that Cachemiris turn into a community without power in their own country,” He added.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Jammu and cashmere dispute would remain a key pillar of his foreign policy.

“Pakistan will continue to offer its unwavering moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmir people until the achievement of their right to self-determination, as devoted to the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” -It reiterated.

The Prime Minister also praised the resolution and the courage of the valiant cashmere people, who continued to make countless sacrifices in their struggle to achieve their fundamental rights and freedoms.

The armed forces reaffirm support for the cashmiris

The president of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff (CJCSC), General SAHUR SHAMSHAD, the heads of services and the Pakistani armed forces have also reaffirmed their unshakable support for the inhabitants of IIOJK in their struggle for self-determination , said inter-service public relations (ISPR).

They also paid tribute to the indomitable spirit of the cashmere people, who have endured decades of oppression, a brutality sponsored by the state and the blatant violations of human rights.

“Their unshakable determination in the face of tyranny remains a lighthouse of courage and inspiration for the whole nation,” said the declaration of the military media wing.

The army’s media wing said that the armed forces of Pakistan strongly condemned the serious violations of human rights in progress in IIOJK, including extrajudicial murders, imposed disappearances and arbitrary detentions.

These transgressions constitute an act of accusation affecting the flagrant contempt of India for international law, humanitarian principles and fundamental human rights, he added.

“We urge the international community, the world human rights organizations and the United Nations to take immediate and decisive measures to approach the fate of the Kashmir people and ensure the implementation of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council by Their aspirations, ”said the press release, quoting CJCSC and heads of services.

He also indicated that the armed forces of Pakistan remain firmly in their commitment to the just cause of cashmere and have resolved in their duty to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.

“We are going to the shoulder with our cashmirian brothers in their legitimate pursuit of freedom and dignity,” he concluded. Pakistan living in Pakistan! Living cashmere, “concluded the press release.
