The Karachi Commissioner made a suspension order for 11 vaccinators due to negligence during the current polio vaccination campaign.
The suspended staff, including the District Malir and District West vaccinators, was responsible for presenting themselves to Commissioner House.
The notification was published under the direction of Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hassan Naqvi, following the instructions of the chief secretary.
Suspended individuals include Zafar Khaskheli, Ali Gul Kalhoro, Sarfraz Kattar, Nooruddin Jakhrani, Mazhar Khan Bajrani, Amanullah, Saleem Raza, Munshi Mumtaz Kalhoro, Abid Shah, Dehni Bakhsh and Abdul Qadir.
The commissioner clearly indicated that absenteeism or negligence during the polio campaign will not be tolerated. Other strict actions will be taken in case of continuous gaps in the Polio reader.
Sindh chief secretary, Asif Haider Shah, underlined the need for district administration, income service, local government officials and city employees to actively help polio teams on the ground.
He warned that strict measures will be taken against any government employee found absent from their polio functions.
