Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) announced that it will not engage in any confrontation or trouble on February 8, marking the first anniversary of the general elections of last year.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja told Islamabad that the party would only hold a rally that Swabi, while the demonstrations would take place at the level of the Tehsil and Union council. He said there was no confrontation or chaos plan.
The former part in power had asked for permission to hold a rally in Minar-E-Pakistan on February 8, but the deputy commissioner rejected the request, refusing the approval of the meeting.
“The decision not to authorize the rally was made to maintain the situation of public order,” said the DC in a statement, also mentioning that the important events scheduled for Lahore on February 8, as a cricket match, An international conference of speakers and a spectacle of horse and livestock.
The government official said thousands of security staff had already been deployed due to these events.
Meanwhile, before the event at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, government representatives, including police staff, were prohibited from participating in political rallies and rallies.
Provincial police have also been responsible for refrain from assisting or facilitating such events.
