- Ikea launched a version of its Smart Home application for Apple Watch
- The application allows you to control your IKEA smart lights on your wrist
- The management of other smart devices can be added to a later date
Ikea has published a new version of its Smart Home application for Apple Watch. The application has not yet been officially announced, but has appeared in the App Store and allows you to control your IKEA smart lights on your wrist.
As the Polly Allcock of Notebookcheck note, the Ikea Home smart application modification does not mention the new Watchos application, but Screengrabs shows that it will allow you to switch your intelligent and extinct lights, adjust their brightness, choose Lighting scenes and choose personalized colors in a palette.
Ikea Home Smart for iPad, iPhone and Android also allows you to control other devices, including intelligent speakers, blinds and air purifiers, but the gras of the Watchos version only show options for lights intelligent. More devices may be added with future update.
To use the application, you will need Watchos 10.6 or subsequent version, plus an ikea hub will run, which allows you to connect your IKEA devices to each other, and works as a material bridge.

You don’t have the Ikea lights? Do not worry, you can use your Apple Watch to operate bulbs and smart lamps compatible with Apple Homekit. The exact options available will depend on the lights you have, but you can generally turn them on and turn them off, mitigate them and change their color with a tap and a blow. See Apple’s guide for complete instructions.
Govee makes some of the best smart lights we have tested, and its Govee Home application for Apple Watch allows you to switch on the light and extinct lights, adjust their brightness and check the condition of other devices such as smart thermostats and thermometers.
There is no longer an official HUE Philips application for Apple Watch (meaning, the company behind Hue, abandoned it a few years ago), but you can always operate your Hue lights from your wrist Apple Homekit, or one of the many thirds of applications on the App Store such as Hue For Watch.
How do you prefer to control your smart lights and which applications do you recommend? Let us know in the comments.
