Islamabad: the head of the opposition of the National Assembly of Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Omar Ayub Khan, excluded the possibility of resumption of dialogue between the former ruling party and the outgoing government, The news reported on Sunday.

“The market chapter is now closed,” said Ayub on Saturday, adding that political negotiations were not based on simple wishes but required firm commitments, which the government has not demonstrated.

The senator accused the PTI of returning to his “violent protest field” and said that if the party later decides to engage in talks, the government could reassess its options at that time.

Meanwhile, the president of the PTI, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said that the party was not looking for an intervention with a country, including the United States, for the release of its founder.

“We do not ask any country, including the United States, for the release of Khan. He has made no agreement and will not conclude any agreement.

“As Khan said himself, we negotiate not for an agreement, but for Pakistan and democracy,” Gohar said in a statement.
