IT exports from Pakistan increased by 28%, reaching $ 1.86 billion, with additional growth expected in the coming months, the Minister of State for Information Technologies, Shaza Fatima Khawaja said on Sunday.
Speaking at the JEAP 2025 at the Pakistani-Saudi commercial forum, Khawaja underlined the government’s commitment to extend the digital economy of Pakistan. It described Digital Nation Act 2025 as a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s technological and innovation landscape.
“Digital Nation Act 2025 is a commitment to transform the digital economy in Pakistan,” she said, adding that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia improve their digital and economic partnership.
Khawaja also announced that Pakistan would soon organize a Direct Direct Foreign Investment (IDE) forum in Islamabad, bringing together global investors to explore opportunities in the Pakistan technological sector.
It reaffirmed that by virtue of Pakistan-Saudi Vision 2030, the two countries are determined to strengthen links in emerging technologies. The government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has adopted a complete strategy to stimulate digital economic growth.
The increase in computer science exports and increased Pakistan’s ambition abroad to position itself as a regional technological center, taking advantage of strategic partnerships to accelerate the growth of the digital sector.
