A ripe pousse driver who stole a woman’s dowry items was quickly arrested by Sheikhupura police.
According to a spokesperson for Safe City, the driver fled with women’s value objects, which caused a rapid action of the Smart Safe City Sheikhupura team, which led to his capture.
The woman reported the flight via the 15 lines of assistance and receiving her complaint, the authorities used certain city cameras to follow the suspect’s movements.
The virtual patrol officer drew the rickshaw route to identify the driver’s location.
The spokesperson added that the virtual patrol officer provided all the evidence necessary for the local police, leading to the driver’s arrest in a few hours.
The police have since returned the articles of the woman’s dowry, assessed at two and a half rupees Lakh, and initiated legal proceedings against the driver.
A similar incident occurred in Karachi earlier, a ripening driver fled with the dowry articles of a family in the Karachi region in Nazimabad, leaving the victims in distress of weeks before a marriage.
Images of the incident video surface surfaced on social networks, which caused calls for police action.
According to the affected family, the incident took place when he hired a rickshaw from a market to Liaquatabad to transport household items to Orangi Town.
Stolen goods included utensils and other dowry essentials purchased for next wedding.
