Turkish President Erdogan due today

Islamabad:

The president of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to arrive in the federal capital on Wednesday (today) for a two -day visit to the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

It will be accompanied by a high -level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, as well as business leaders, according to a press release published by Foreign Office (FO).

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan will coprine the 7th session of Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).

At the end of the session, a joint declaration and a certain number of important / soft agreements should be signed.

President Erdogan will also have meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari.

With Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Turkish President will address the Pakistan-Turkiye sales and investment forum, bringing together the main investors, businesses and businessmen on both sides.

The High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) is the highest decision -making forum, providing a strategic orientation to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

There are a number of joint committees (JSC) under the HLSCC, covering the sectors, in particular; Trade, investment, bank, finance, culture, tourism, energy, defense, agriculture, transport, communication, IT, health, science and technology and education. Until now, six HLSCC sessions have taken place. The last session took place here on February 13-14, 2020, according to the press release.

Pakistan and Turkiye are linked by historic fraternal links, added the press release.

The Turkish president’s visit and the 7th HLSCC session would serve to further deepen fratering relations and improve multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
