PM Ramazan Plan command to control prices

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pointed out Wednesday that the supply of food products essential to affordable prices was the absolute priority of the government.

He also ordered the competent authorities to prepare a complete strategy to ensure the availability of food at affordable prices during Ramazan.

He said that federal and provincial governments should collaborate to provide eating items at reasonable prices to ordinary humans.

The Prime Minister chaired the meeting of the cabinet at the PM’s house.

He underlined the tedious efforts of his government to achieve sustainable economic growth according to increased productivity and industrial accumulation.

The Prime Minister made the opening remarks at the meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by him where he referred to his interaction with the director general of the IMF in Dubai, who appreciated the Pakistan team for his commendable efforts in the Implementation of the IMF program and the realization of the amicable indicators economy.

He commented on the boat incident in Libya and regretted that many precious lives were lost. He ordered the districts concerned to ensure that this odious crime ends.

The Cabinet, on the recommendation of the Ministry of National Training and Vocational Training, approved the appointment of Dr. Hassan al-Amin (BS-21) as director of the National Institute of Pakistani Studies at Quaid University -E-Azam, Islamabad. The cabinet was informed that his appointment had been made to merit by a transparent system.

The firm, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance, approved the appointment of Tahira Raza as a non -executive member of the State Bank of Pakistan for a period of five years.

Similarly, the cabinet, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interconfessional Harmony, approved the strategy of policy of interconfessional harmony and religious tolerance.

The cabinet was informed that a subcommittee had presented the recommendation after examining the strategy of interconfessional harmony and religious tolerance policy.

The dialogues and conferences concerning religious tolerance would take place and the public awareness campaigns would also be carried out within the framework of politics.

An action plan concerning the security of the rights of religious minorities is also part of the policy. In addition, under the strategy of religious tolerance, measures would be taken to prevent hatred of material and literature in addition to preparing an action plan to resolve various sectarian differences.

On the recommendation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interconfessional Harmony, the cabinet approved the appointment of Laila Ilyas Kalpana and Satwant Kaur as female members of the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

The Federal Cabinet, on the recommendation of the income division, has also approved the signing of the initial project of the Convention between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Iraq concerning the elimination of the double taxation on the tax on income and capital, as well as measures to prevent tax evasion and tax non-compliance.

The cabinet has ratified the decisions made at the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) held on February 3, 2025.
