Islamabad: Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan received an honorary guard at the Prime Minister’s house when he arrived in Pakistan during an official visit on Thursday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the Turkish chief – who is visiting two days in Pakistan – and First Lady Emine Emine Erdogan, with official salvation in their honor. The national hymns of the two countries were played as part of the reception ceremony.
The Prime Minister also presented the Turkish president to the members of the federal cabinet. The PM Shehbaz also met the members of the Erdogan cabinet, who were also present on this occasion.
Later, the chief of staff of the army, General Asim Munir, also met Erdogan and extended greetings during his visit. The Turkish president was also honored with a flypast by fighter planes F-16.
Erdogan, accompanied by the First Lady and a delegation of investors and business leaders, landed in Noor Khan Airbase late last night.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz personally welcomed him to the airport. As part of the ceremonial reception, a greeting of 21 guns was presented to the distinguished guest.
His visit includes high -level commitments aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
During his visit, the Turkish president will co-reside the seventh meeting of Pakistan-Turkiye High-Devel Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The meeting will end with a joint declaration, and several key agreements and understanding of comprehension (soft) should be signed. The two leaders will also address a joint press conference.
In addition, President Erdogan will hold separate meetings with the Prime Minister and President Zardari.
He should also speak in Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum, which will be followed by the main investors, companies and commercial figures from the two countries.
The HLSCC is the highest decision-making platform between Pakistan and Türkiye, providing strategic orientation to bilateral relations.
He oversees multiple joint trade -oriented committees, investment, bank, finance, culture, tourism, energy, defense, agriculture, transport, communications, IT, health , science and technology and education.
Six HLSCC meetings have taken place so far, the last taking place in Islamabad on February 13-14, 2020.
Pakistan and Turkiye share historical and fraternal links. The visit of President Erdogan and the seventh HLSCC session will deepen these relations and strengthen multidimensional cooperation between the two nations.
