The president of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, arrived at the Prime Minister’s house on Thursday in Islamabad where he was warmly welcomed with a great honor guard.
This official reception marks the start of his official visit, during which he will have discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to strengthen bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed President Erdogan and First Lady Emine Emine Erdogan with the full state protocol upon arrival.
The Prime Minister presented the president invited to members of his federal cabinet, each member welcoming Erdogan individually.
Later, the chief of staff of the army (COAS) Asim Munnir met President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and warmly praised him during his official visit to Pakistan.
In another demonstration of respect, President Erdogan was honored with a spectacular flypast by fighter planes F-16, adding to the grandeur of his visit.
Erdogan arrived in Islamabad late Wednesday during a two-day visit to Pakistan during which he would hold bilateral meetings with the Pakistani leaders and addressed the Pakistan-Turkiye business and investment forum.
Erdogan received a warm welcome at the Nur Khan air base. He was received by President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, First Lady Asefa Bhutto, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Minister of Information Attaullah Tara and senior government officials.
A greeting of 21 guns was dismissed in honor of President Erdogan, who was accompanied by a high -level delegation. Air Force Pakistan jets escorted the Erdogan special plane as it entered Pakistan airspace, adding to the importance of the visit.
Two children, dressed in traditional outfit, presented bouquets to President Erdogan and the First Lady. The reception ceremony also included a performance by the military group, while the children agitated the flags of Pakistan and Turkey.
During his visit, President Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will coprinate the 7th session of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation (HLSCC), aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations. Erdogan will also engage in bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Sharif and President Zardari.
