The chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) and member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shehryar Afridi denied information that the founder of the PTI had decided to withdraw the main leader of the Sher Afzal Marwat party. Afridi also condemned what he called the oppression of the state against the PTI in Punjab, citing the taxation of article 144 throughout the province on February 8. Despite the restrictions, he said, the public voted for PTI and rejected other parties.
He also allegedly alleged that the leaders and PTI workers were subject to an unjust prison sentence and violence. “These actions weaken Pakistan,” he warned.
