The Supreme Court updates the seniority list with new judges

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has updated its seniority list following the taking of seven newly high judges.

The names and profiles of these judges were published on the official website of the Supreme Court, said Express News.

According to the updated seniority list, the chief judge of the Pakistani judge Yahya Afridi is followed by judge Mansoor Ali Shah.

Judge Muneeb Akhtar is placed second online, followed respectively from judge Ameenuddin Khan and judge Jamal Mandokhel.

The list is called judge Mohammad Ali Mazhar, judge Ayesha Malik, judge Athar Minallah, judge Hassan Azhar Rizvi, judge Shahid Waheed and judge Musarat Hilali.

Among the other notable entries, let us quote judge Irfan Saadat, judge Naeem Akhtar Afghan, judge Shehzad Malik, judge Aqeel Abbasi, judge Shahid Bilal Hassan, judge Hashim Kakar and judge Shafi Siddiqui.

The updated list reflects recent changes in the composition of the best judicial organization in Pakistan, many new appointments that take effect.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Chief Judge Yahya Afridi was sworn in to six newly appointed judges from the Supreme Court.

The new judges include Hashim Khan Kakar, former judge-judge of the high court of Balutchistan (BHC); Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, former chief judge of the High Court of the Sindh (SHC); Ishtiaq Ibrahim, former chief judge of the High Court of Peshawar (PHC) and Aamer Faroo, former chief judge of the High Court of Islamabad (IHC).

SHC Salahuddin Panhwar judge and Phc Shakeel Ahmed judge also took an oath as judges of the Supreme Court.

In addition, the CJP Yahya Afridi was sworn in to judge Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb as an acting judge from the Supreme Court.

The ceremony brought together judges from the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the main lawyers, journalists, judicial staff, as well as officials of the association of the Supreme Court Bar and Pakistan Bar Council.

These judges were appointed Monday at a meeting of the Pakistan Judicial Commission (JCP) which was boycotted by two superior judges of the SC as well as two members of the opposition party.

The JCP of 13 members, led by chief judge Yahya Afridi, met to examine the appointments for the appointments of the Supreme Court. According to a press release on the Supreme Court website, the appointments were approved by a majority vote.
