The chief of the staff of the army (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, reaffirmed the army’s commitment to support the economic development of Pakistan, declaring that Punjab has become the agricultural power of the country.

Speaking during the launch of the Green Pakistan initiative in Cholistan, General Asim Munnir congratulated leadership and Punjab farmers for their role in the modernization of agriculture. He congratulated the Green Business Project of the Punjab government, calling for his achievements in a short time “encouraging” and a sign of progress.

The initiative includes the inauguration of the shopping center and the service company, the intelligent agricultural farm and the agricultural research and installation center. The launching ceremony brought together the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik.

The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will offer farmers quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides at reduced prices, as well as access to agricultural machines, including drones, on affordable rental conditions.

A modern agricultural farm covering 5,000 acres will serve as a model for advanced irrigation techniques and agriculture economical in water, aimed at reducing costs and increasing productivity.

The agricultural research and installation center will offer soil tests and other research services, collaborating with institutions across the country to promote agricultural innovation.

Head Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif qualified the initiative of “revolution” in modern agriculture, stressing his role in the progress of Punjab farmers and the overall prosperity of Pakistan.
