Punjab launches agricultural projects to support farmers with modern facilities

The initiative of Green Pakistan was officially launched in Cholistan in order to transform agriculture and offer full support to farmers.

The launching ceremony was followed by the chief of staff of the army Asim Munnir, the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the federal ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik.

The main components of the initiative include the opening of a green shopping center and a service company, an intelligent agricultural farm and an agricultural research and installation center.

The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will offer farmers access to high quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides at reduced prices, delivered directly to their door.

In addition, the initiative will offer affordable rental options for agricultural machines, including drones.

Meanwhile, an intelligent farm of 5,000 acres, equipped with modern irrigation and agriculture techniques, was also launched to promote sustainable agriculture and higher yields with lower costs.

The agricultural research center will provide soil tests, laboratory services and will serve as a hub for agricultural education and research across Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that projects mark the start of an agricultural revolution in Punjab, guaranteeing the growth of farmers and the prosperity of Pakistan. She also distributed letters of land allocation to the children of martyrs and injured veterans.

In his speech, the head of the army Gen Asim Munnir said that Punjab has become the agricultural power of Pakistan. He said that the leadership role in Punjab and his farmers in modern agriculture was commendable.

General Syed Asim Munnir appreciated the efforts and successes made as part of the Green Business Project of the Punjab Government in a short time, describing them as encouraging and an avant-courier sign of progress.

He said the army will continue to fully support the country’s economic development.
