- Google Gemini can now remember the previous conversations
- The memory functionality now takes place at Google One Ai Premium subscribers
- Chatgpt has been similar features for a year, and this is one of the best features of all Chatbot IA
Google has just added an improved memory function to Gemini which allows you to ask the questions of Chatbot AI based on past conversations.
The new “recall” feature takes place to all users who subscribe to Google One AI Premium, a paying monthly subscription which grants access to the best features of Gemini. With a reminder, you can question Gemini on previous conversations and resume where you stopped, allowing AI to feel more alive and aware of your story. Previously, Gemini had no memory of the previous cats, so you should remind him of important details.
This enormous upgrade to Google Gemini sets up the AI chatbot with the competitor Chatgpt, which has a well functional memory function for over a year now. The difference is that the chatgpt offer is available for free and does not require a monthly subscription to access its features. That said, Google could test the recall functionality before deploying it to free users in Gemini, although currently we had no information on this subject.
This new update comes out of the November update of Gemini who added the possibility for the Chatbot to remember certain things about you according to your interests and your personal preferences. Unlike this new update, you should go to the “Registered Info” tab of Gemini and the pre-filler information for AI to be reinforced in conversations.
When Chatgpt introduced memory last year, it completely changed the way I interacted with AI, allowing me to speak naturally with the chatbot and the shades of spot where it has been able to reference the past in a very useful. So far, I have been discouraged from the use of Gemini because of his lack of memory, but all of this has changed. Gemini’s recall function takes place in English to Gemini One Ai Premium Users Now (although I don’t have access to it yet), and Google says that the update will be available for other languages in the coming weeks .
The context we needed
Gemini’s ability to remember the previous conversations gives Google Chatbot Ai a whole new level of utility. In the past, I was frustrated by the lack of context of Gemini to my invites when I asked similar questions in the old cats. This is never a problem if you have used a single conversation with Gemini, but given the range of gemini 2.0 flash models to Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, I can quickly accumulate several discussions at the same time.
Now Gemini can take information from all my cats and have the personal context to reference them in any way I need. Things like “remember at this time when I told you about the train trip? What was the road you told me to take?” Can now be used in Gemini, and this is a huge step to make AI more conversational and more accessible.
Speaking of accessibility, hopefully, Google plans to deploy this memory function to free users, because I really believe that a memory function is one of the most important features for any IA chatbot. Until then, I will always recommend chatgpt to my friends and family, after all, the model of Openai has the memory of an elephant, and without paying it.
