Sindhi’s famous poet, Allah Bux, popularly known as Dr Akash Ansari, 69, died when a fire broke out in his house located in Hyderabad, police confirmed on Saturday.
According to Latif Akash, his adopted son, Ansari slept when a fire broke out in his room around 8:30 am. Latif said that when he entered the room, he saw his father fell from the bed. He said that the room was filled with smoke and that the floor of the room was very hot.
After being informed, rescue managers rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. Officials said the incident occurred in Citizen Colony.
The members of the deceased family took their body to Badin for burial, but at the request of the authorities, the poet’s body was brought to the University Hospital of Liaquat, Hyderabad, for forensic formalities.
Meanwhile, the Sindh -Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah paid a rich tribute to the services of the deceased poet and ordered investigations on the incident.
In accordance with the instructions of chief, Hyderabad SSP formed a team of five members, led by the SP headquarters, Masood Iqbal, to investigate the incident.
During his interaction with journalists, SP IQBAL said that a short circuit was the likely cause of the fire. He added that the poet took sleeping pills.
The police officer also declared that his son was at home when the incident occurred, adding that Latif had asked for help from rescue agents and his neighbors to save his father’s life.
“Dr. Akash filed a complaint against his adopted son in 2024, but later he buried the ax,” he added.
