- A report says that Apple fell with the great deployment of Siri’s AI
- The company is apparently faced with “engineering problems” and bugs
- I all of this reworked that Siri reworked does not cut the cut apparently for iOS 18.4
Apple would have a hard time with its highly anticipated major renovation of Siri and may have to postpone the upgrade to iOS 18.5 in May.
It is according to the seasoned Apple Watchers Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who says that “engineering problems and software bugs” could still win the overhaul, which was to give the assistant the powers of AI more distant fired by Apple Intelligence.
If you return your mind to WWDC 2024, Apple has revealed a huge AI upgrade for Siri, some of which came into play last year, but other more complex capacities are still in preparation.
Quoting “people with knowledge of the question”, Gurman reports that this feature is more difficult to implement than expected and that some of these in -depth features apparently do not work enough in a coherent way. This includes some of the most impressive powers demonstrated by Apple before, such as the fact that Siri traverses emails and SMS to find the flight and booking plans for a parent’s lunch, to choose a specific example highlighted by Gurman.
More broadly, Gurman’s sources paint a table of Apple “Racing” engineers to finish these AI features. The original plan was supposed to launch the Siri improved in iOS 18.4 – an update of rumors for April 2025 (the beta version should be imminent, in fact) – but now, this could be pushed in May (in iOS 18.5 apparently ), or even even later.
Some, or all, of these powers of heavy goods vehicles for Siri could be retained, so that we can potentially see a handful of new capacities in iOS 18.4 – but it still seems very in the air, especially since C ‘ is a relatively close time now.
Gurman also theorizes that another option for Apple could be to include the new AI features for Siri in iOS 18.4, but extinguished by default – probably a scenario “ at your own risk ”. Apple could then choose to activate them fully (by default) in the next version of iOS, when final Gremlins are deleted, probably.
In one way or another, it seems that Siri is completely improved with all the characteristics of the AIA promised by Apple, resembles a more fragile perspective in the shorter term – assuming that Gurman’s sources are correct, Of course.
Analysis: Apple devices are thin of patience
What are these AI powers, you may be wondering? To summarize the revelation of WWDC, they include major parts of the puzzle to really feed Siri, including the awareness of what is on the device screen (to use this information in the context, during the Interaction with the user), and more in -depth integration with applications to facilitate better control on this software.
A more personal experience and a bunch of new tips should be possible, including the capacity described by Gurman above concerning the parent’s booking plans.
The problem is that some Apple fans are more and more eager to really try some of Siri’s convincing features that have been demonstrated by Apple the best part of the year there is now. Just last week, we wrote about how the beta iOS 18.4 version promises to include the Siri upgrade that we are waiting for and that iOS 18.4 could be the biggest iPhone upgrade of all time.
Until now, we have been entitled to a new intelligent interface for the assistant, and these chatgpt chops, but there is nothing that announces the arrival of the brand new AI much more powerful than we have promised by Apple During his major developer conference last year.
The danger is that if iOS 18.4 presents itself, and Siri is again left on the front of AI, people will begin to lose patience here. And not only that, but a slow deployment of these AIA features will strengthen Apple’s impression as being lagging behind the rest of the technological industry in the field of artificial intelligence.
To be fair to Apple, when he revealed the new SIRI IA functionality to WWDC last year, for more complex features, the company promised nothing in terms of delivery beyond a deployment during 2025.
This tension perhaps itself an index that Apple was not confident within a delivery time, and achieved the complexity of the implementation of all this, which works well.
As always, these are only chattering of the rumor mill, so take it with a certain skepticism, although Gurman is certainly one of the most reliable journalists with regard to Apple initiate information. We will probably find out soon, with a new iPhone to release next week and maybe some new iOS at the same time.
