Windows 11 undergoes even more experimentation with advertisements, this time in the Settings application (again), because users of driving with targeted “suggestions” of one type or another seem to be a habit that Microsoft does not will not go up anytime soon.
The new announcement – or “recommendation” as Microsoft could call it – is present in the latest Windows 11 overview version published in the Dev and Beta channels, which means that it is always just test .
This is an advertisement that appears in the home page of the Settings application which is targeted on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. If it seems familiar, it is because Microsoft sparked a similar announcement in tests last year, although it was trying to cajolate people to register for Game Pass himself.
It was always targeted on the players, however, we were told at the time. The difference with this new advertising initiative is that it is aimed at those who are already subscribing, and it is a reference ad. The idea is to “share a free 14 -day trial” with up to five friends in order to make them register.
As for the previous advertisement for Game Pass, this only appears for those who are connected to their PC on their Microsoft account.
In the blog post of the new 26120 preview version, Microsoft also notes that it will improve the recall function in its next version for testers. The recall is the research function (controversial and delicate to implement) which applies only to those who have a COPILOT + PC (because it needs the strong npu incorporated into these laptops to ensure that the process takes place in candy).
There is a neat supplement for those who use OneDrive since Windows 11 will present a notification on your PC offering the possibility of taking the work on a file that you simply edit on your phone.
