As far as I know, these are the only times that Apple applied an “E” to a product name. However, the iPhone 16th is neither an “educational” smartphone nor exactly an “improved” model.

What does “e” mean for you?

It has much more in common with all the other iPhone 16 models. The notch, instead of a dynamic island, is strange and looks like going back but otherwise, the iPhone 16th resembles a part of the new family .
But these differences, such as the notch, the lack of Magsafe support and the control of the missing camera, also make it distinctive.
Perhaps you accept that some of these missing attributes may not be at the heart of the iPhone 16 experience (is the camera control necessary?) And, in balance, you could consider this phone of $ 599 “exciting” because it is relatively affordable while providing the “essential” iPhone 16 “” experience.
I think you get where I go. If I had to guess, I would say that Apple is a bit “enigmatic” and uses a handful of “E” words to define this model. This is not necessarily a bad thing because it means that the “E” in the iPhone 16th can mean what you want it to mean.
